CITY FACTS
San José, Costa Rica
San José is the capital city of Costa Rica and is also known by native “Ticos” as Chepe. The city has grown exponentially in the past 60 years and is packed with office towers, shopping malls and fast food restaurants. There are also many markets and a lot of nightlife entertainment as well as rougher, more depressed areas that usually compose at least a part of a major world city. More than one-third of all Ticos reside in or near San José, and since Costa Rica is not a large country, access and transportation to the more well-known rural and “ecological” areas that Costa Rica is very easy.

UNIVERSITY FACTS

Universidad Veritas offers students the option to live with a host family. Living with a host family is the easiest way for students to experience Costa Rican culture and practice their Spanish. Their homestays tend to be one of the main highlights of studying abroad at Veritas. Students will have a private room, and will be provided breakfast and dinner 7 days a week. Laundry service is provided once a week. Please Click Here to learn more about homestays.

Universidad Veritas can assist students in finding appropriate off-campus housing if they do not choose to live with a host family, but students must request assistance, and are ultimately responsible for finding, securing, and paying for their accommodations.

INTERNSHIPS
