Program Dates
CSU IP students spend an Academic Year abroad on this program.

Academic Year: September to  June

The Taiwan: National Taiwan University program is affiliated with National Taiwan University (NTU), one of the top-ranked universities in Asia. CSU IP students are admitted to NTU as exchange students and take a combination of Chinese language courses and NTU courses taught in Chinese and/or English.

TaiwanAll students are required to take a Mandarin Chinese language course each semester. Students with less than one year or no previous study of college-level Mandarin Chinese can take courses taught in English in their academic major at NTU, as well as taking NTU General Chinese courses taught through the Department of Chinese Literature. NTU offers Applied Chinese courses designed specifically to meet the needs of non-native speakers to acquire Chinese language skills. Some of the English courses available at NTU include coursework in Asian/Taiwan studies, economics, political science, literature, business, environmental science, and engineering.

Students with near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese take regular university courses in Chinese and courses in English.  Students also take NTU General Chinese and Applied Chinese courses. For more information about the academic program, students may refer to the CSU IP Academic Bulletin for the previous year. Note that course offerings are subject to change and may not be offered during the year of intended study.

The Taiwan: National Taiwan University program is located in Taipei, which is the capital city of Taiwan. Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of Taiwan. Considered to be a global city, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area. The National University of Taiwan’s main campus is centrally located in Taipei’s Da’an district.

NTU arranges on-campus dormitories for CSU IP students. Students register online with NTU for housing; instructions are provided with the NTU university application. Students who prefer to live off-campus are advised to arrive prior to the start of classes (1 to 2 weeks is recommended) to find a place to live. Please be advised that the Office of International Affairs at NTU does not provide assistance in locating off-campus housing options.
