Academic Year: July to June
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
University of Ghana – Legon is located near Accra, the capital city of Ghana. The University of Ghana - Legon is Ghana's premier institution of higher learning, with almost 40,000 students attending each year. The University of Ghana is similar to the British university model in that undergraduate students enroll in a program of study that is relatively fixed and highly focused within the particular subject. This program is administered by full-time local CSU staff.
Ghana: University of Ghana provides students with the opportunity to develop a fuller understanding of the country and its people through integration in the academic and cultural life. All students are required to take Society and Culture of Ghana in the fall semester, Twi language classes during both semesters, and a Service Learning course in the spring semester. The Service learning course allows students to gain hands on experience working in the community. The focus of the Service Learning course is determined by the student, but past service learning experiences have involved working in local schools, law offices, museums and research institutions. In addition, students enroll in
courses within the regular departments of the university to complete their course load.
For additional academic information about this program, please refer to the CSU IP Academic Bulletin for most current year by clicking

LOCATION
Legon, a suburb of the Ghanaian city Accra, is situated about 7.5 miles north-east of the city center in the Accra Metropolis District, a district in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Accra stretches along the Ghanaian Atlantic coast and extends north into Ghana's interior. Once merely a 19th-century suburb of Victoriaborg, Accra has since transitioned into a modern metropolis; the city's architecture reflects this history, ranging from 19th-century architecture buildings to modern skyscrapers and apartment blocks.
HOUSING
In Accra, students will be housed in one of the hostels for international students on the University of Ghana campus. Students at the University of Ghana are required to live in on-campus residence halls. Off-campus housing is not permitted. Students will share rooms with either IP students, local Ghanaian students or other international students.
